Billingham tripods are manufactured in Germany with precision. Legs are made of ash (timber tree), and heads are made of cast aluminum. Together these materials have little tendency to whip or twist, ensuring a stable camera platform. Ash has a natural tendency to absorb vibrations. Its straight grain makes it immensely strong. Seasoned ash sections are cut and machined with precision, prompting them to slide together easily. They have some very light signs of use but are still in good working condition.

The oldest one (not included in this sale) has had some slight adaptations made with a small plate fixed on the front for a small monitor used as a teleprompter that I now no longer have. This will be advertised on its own - with or without the plate fixtures - when the newer ones have been sold.

The tripod fully extended is approx 49" and in the closed position is approx 13".

Has 4 internal metal extending legs giving 5 in total - one is very stiff in operation and will need lubricating.

Has 2 internal brass extending legs giving 3 in total - one of the legs pulls out of the main black tube so being sold as is.

There is some very minimal paint wear to the back of the legs where they have rubbed together - the white lines on the legs are from the camera flash.
